The Art of
LYNN MILLER
Biography

Ever since I was a young child I have always been interested in art and enjoyed expressing myself with a variety of art materials. I went to a special high school in New York City for students who were talented in music and art (Music and Art High School) and decided that I wanted to be a professional artist when I grew up. Studying art education at Old Dominion University (B. S. in Art Education) and Queens College, City University of New York (M. S. in Art Education) I began a 32 year career as an artist and art educator.

I have had solo or small group shows at the Milieu Design Inc. in Barrington, Dunton Gallery in Arlington Heights, the Deer Path Gallery in Lake Forest, Arlington Gallery in Arlington Heights, Multiple Choices in Chicago, Raue Center for the Arts in Crystal Lake and in many businesses, banks, public libraries, and government buildings in the Chicago area. Currently my work can be seen at the Deer Path Gallery (www.deerpathgallery.citymax.com). In addition, I have participated in many juried gallery shows and art fairs in the Chicago area.

My work is in private and corporate collections including Nicor, Northern Trust Bank, Lake Forest Bank, Kimball Hill Real Estate, and the Norris Gallery. I have received awards in numerous juried gallery shows including Women’s Works, The Lake Forest Art Fair, Art Centre in Elmhurst, and Scholl’s College of Podiatric Medicine.

I have just retired from teaching art in Glenview School District #34. Now I am enjoying painting in my home studio and taking classes or workshops with other respected artists.
